13 days. 10 riders. 6329 kilometres. 1000s of lives changed.

On June 21st, 2008, the ten members of the Strachan Hartley Legacy Foundation bike team crossed the finish line at the Commonwealth Centre pool in Saanich, British Columbia – thirteen days after climbing on their bikes in Halifax, Nova Scotia. A celebration of the adventurous spirit, courage and determination Strachan Hartley (1976-2007) demonstrated in his thirty years, the Make a Difference Marathon is proud to have reached thousands of Canadians from sea to sea with our important message, and Strachan’s dream — “make a difference”. With your help, we have raised over $300,000 to date to help provide under-privileged children and families with sports and education programs to help them reach their full potential. Thank you to everyone who supported our team along the way, and a very special thanks goes out to our sponsors and support crew.
